2020 Pagani Huayra BC Roadster Release Date – Pagani today pulled the cover off one of its most expensive series of production models to date: Huayra Roadster BC. With a whopping $ 3.5 million price tag (at today’s exchange rate), this Huayra reinvents the hyper-Roadster segment with over-the-top styling, a raucous, powerful engine and impressive stats. And we’re not just talking about the price either.
2020 Pagani Huayra BC Roadster Release Date
Powered by a 6.0-liter AMG V12, the Huayra Roadster BC pumps an outrageous 800 horsepower (596 kilowatts) and 774 pound-feet of torque. That’s a modest improvement to 50 HP (37 hp) and 36 lb-ft over the BC Coupe, making “Just” 750 HP (560 kW) and 738 lb-ft relatively from its V12. All this extra Oomph is transferred to the rear wheels via a seven-speed xtrac sequential gearbox with a lightweight single clutch. The single clutch setup, Pagani Notes, is 35 percent lighter than the usual Dual clutch. That — plus plenty of other impressive engineering feats — helps keep the weight at a relatively light 2,685 pounds (1,217 kg).
But it’s not just in a straight line where the BC Roadster stands out. According to Pagani, Roadster BC generates up to 1.9 GS of Max lateral force in corners. Bugatti Chiron, for comparison’s sake, only produces 1.5 GS of Max Grip. Thanks, in part, to Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires designed specifically for Pagani for the extra tackiness. Pagani doesn’t have an official 60 time, but given the Coupe is coming for about 2.5 seconds, the Roadster should not be far behind.
Expect the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC at its first public show in Monterey Car week next month. But buyers better got to order; Pagani says it will build just 40 examples of the Extreme Roadster.
As we all know, the Huayra Roadster is an engineering company for Pagani. It is the first convertible to be lighter than its coupe version plus the company went through a lot of redesign to customize the roofless construction. But if that’s any indication, the leap from the road-legal to the track-focused version of Huayra is huge, especially in terms of the materials used to trim down its weight.
For the record, the Huayra BC is even lighter than the Huayra Roadster – 2,645 pounds (1,199 kg) versus 2,820 pounds (1,280 kg) – which was the result of a new material called the Carbon triax that is claimed to be 50 percent lighter and 20 percent stronger than the ordinary carbon fiber.
With this in mind, we expect the Huayra BC Roadster to inherit the lightweight construction of its Coupe sibling. Another thing we expect to see is an improvement on the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which produces 745 horsepower (555 kilowatts) and 811 pound-feet (1,100 nm) of torque.
Reports indicate that only 100 units of the BC Roadster will be produced by Pagani. For pricing, it should cost more than the BC Coupe, which has a whopping $ 2,550,000.
